“Killing my enemy is work; Loving my friends is pleasure” The Major
This is a work of fiction. Any resemblance of the characters in this novel to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental. You do believe in coincidences, don't you?
In HONOR DUE, the Major is an ex-Special Forces vet whose years in Nam taught him what he needed to know to work as a covert agent for the shadow branches of the government when he returned home. By the 90's he realized his bosses weren't taking terrorism seriously. Finally, a diabetic and bone-tired of the life and the killing, he simply walked away one day, into the Pacific Northwest rainforest and lost himself.
One foggy autumn night he finds himself targeted by what appears to be a Special Operations Team. The Major is forced to resume hunting, in the old way, again. The final straw is when he learns his old Montagnard friend, Y'Ang Boun Dhung, a former Rhade Striker, has been abducted to his neck of the woods, tortured and killed. His friend's daughter, H'Blon, has also been kidnapped. Now he must satisfy the blood debt owed, and rescue her. His mission is to discover what happened 35 years ago, as South Vietnam was falling, that triggered the current pursuit, and take the vengeance owed to his fallen brother and family.
“When a second team is sent, they walk into my kill zone and don't walk out. Now I must face the head of the snake, the one pulling the strings. Perhaps, I'll even get some answers before I kill him. Either way, he's a dead man. Payback's a bitch. After 35 years I still mourn the death of my Rhade wife and children lost in that faraway jungle. What I don't expect to find, but do, is another chance at love.” The Major.
HONOR DUE speaks for the soul and honor of our citizen warriors, appealing to readers of both genders interested in the way soldiers view the world. Without glamorizing violence, HONOR DUE offers a tense drama, and insights into the warrior's code, personal responsibility, and the necessity of keeping fang and claw sharp in this age of terrorism.>
Killing the enemy leaves no room for prisoners and the Major takes none.
“Killing is not sport. It's a job.” The Major
